On the 15th January 1968, Mike & The Diamonds announced to the world they were to become Mister Toad, feeling that they had moved with the times musically the change suited the bands new style and sound. [Add in Terry Seeley]
No sooner had they done so, it was all change. Both John and Mike Rosbotham left the group in August 1968. Mike to concentrate on his newsagents and John just took some time out, he later returned in Raw. Pete Allan also left to join The Lew Day Set/Trio but soon moved on join [band required].
The band reformed bringing in Roger Mayes of short lived The Outlook on drums and lead singer Keith Lamb and guitarist Phil Baldwin who had both previously been with Sleepy Talk.
Keith emigrated to Australia in April 1970 along with the bands roadie Robin Jackson. There they formed Hush who became one of Australia's biggest bands of the mid 1970s, although Jackson moved on very early. Vocal duties were taken on by the bands other roadie Alex Blyth who takes up the story; "Phil on guitar was replaced by Brian Crook from The Precious Few and then soon replaced by Chris Mortimer who had been playing with the short lived Blue Max but previously with Music Hath Charm. Charlie also left on Drums and was replaced by Roger Green from Great yarmouth. It was about this time the band changed it's name to Shaft and quite soon after Argosy.
In February 1978 Keith returns to the UK for a holiday and hopes to get the band together again but nothing comes of the idea EEN Feb 1978
