Patto’s People (Oct66-Feb67)
The official split of the Bo Street Runners is a grey area (see main body of text and sub section Bo Street Runners). The Archive first sees Patto’s People a week after its last listing for The Runners. It has been confirmed that at the official end of The Runners in October 1966, Patto pulls in ex Continentals and other long time musical acquaintances to fulfil some outstanding dates under the Bo Street Runners mantle. A complete list of dates is unknown but the crossover point appears to be December 1966, when a date originally booked as The Bo Street Runners at Hoveton Village Hall is at the last minute advertised as Patto’s People. In early 1967 the band is still very much pick-up, with the EEN tracking local musicians such as Platt, Royal and Zagni, all ex Continentals, making trips to London to play with Patto, (Zagni had already been in London playing with Boz People). The history books have Patto and ex Runners keyboard player Hinkley forming the group, who later, but briefly are known as The Chicago Line Blues Band, however, first noted and advertised line-ups of the group are minus Hinkley. It is believed that the line-up changed quite a bit during this transient period.
The following local dates are believed to be Bo Street Runner dates fulfilled by Patto’s People.
13/11/66 Orford Cellar - Patto’s People
20/11/66 Bo Street Runners - The Maids Head, KL
03/12/66 Bo Street Runners - Royal Links Pavilion, Cromer
