The band made their debut at the Louis Marchesi Cellar on 27 February 1985 supporting The Frame. The band were an instant success even if internally they were still finding their feet. After two gigs as a three piece the band added Kevin Psyd Rudrum on keyboards creating a third of the old Stingrays outfit from 1980, unsettled Psyd only lasts three gigs before leaving.
The band are missing an ingredient and this arrived in the shape of new lead guitarist Terry Bunting at The Lawyer Public House on the 19th June 1985. The final major change in the bands line-up comes in January 1988 when ex Frame bassist Steve Crane replaces founder bassist John Bunting who retires from the music scene to concentrate on family life.
