"The MK1 line-up included the nucleus of Isis, Dave Kirby on drums and Jerry Roper on guitar.
I was pretty honoured to be asked to join this new band with Eric Gough and Andy Boyle. I Bought loads
of gear with money I didn't really have. Rehearsed a good set of covers and went for our first gig in May 1988
at The Hedenham Mermaid. On the Bungay Road. Kirby's kit was so large we basically filled the room and Eric sang
facing a mirror over a fireplace about 3 feet away! The audience basically took turns peering through the doorway!
The other bar was full though and the pub loved us but I don't think we went back there!." DD 12/01/2021
