"Toad Hall was an acoustic three piece performing primarily original material. They were winners of East Anglian heats of The Melody Maker Folk and Rock Contest two years running, reaching the semi-finals in 1972 and the final in 1973 - both at the Roundhouse, Chalk Farm.
On hearing their demo-tape John Peel wrote to the band “…yours is one of the best demos I’ve had in months … I hope you become hugely famous”
Guitarists Paul Gill and Bev Parish had been part of the East Anglian music scene since the mid 1960’s, initially in R & B and later blue/progressive (Gill) and contemporary folk (Parish). Sally Jones had also worked on the folk circuit with The Magic Garden. Toad Hall played all across the Eastern region and London. They played their last gig at Bedford College with Nic Jones on [date required]." BP14/11/2022
