Formed by Mel Holman previously of The Mick Hayes Sound. Mel put the band together with the help and advice of well respected local musician Bobby Secker. Second Opinion Rock played their first gig on the 13th September 1972 at The Royal Hotel in Mundesley. Booking agent Phil Beevis of Alert Entertainment then advised the band to shorten its name to Second Opinion.
