The club was the last in a succession of short lived clubs to operate out of the back of The Bedford Arms Public House. Once the skittle alley at the rear of the pub it had become a venue in the late 50's when the Norwich Jazz Club had moved in.
At first the area around the pub was undeveloped and the noise from the pub disturbed few people but as the sixties rolled on many of the derelict houses around the establisment were renovated and restored in particular those in Pasonage Square which are today prime city centre properties. Plagued by on/off attendance figures, it had originally closed in ?? but was reprieved in ??.
By 1970 licences for music nights were meeting local opposition. Landlords were losing tennants due to the noise and were keen to object.
