Plasterer by trade, Franks first band was The Alley Kats a pick-up skiffle group that played resident at The Red Lion public house in St Georges in Norwich. Often noted as the first Skiffle group in the city (although hard to confirm). Frank went on to play in The Mustard City Stompers, The Mutton Chop Banjo band and also seen at a reunion of Pussy and the Cats shortly before his passing in 1978.
After his retirement in 1975, Frank took to sculpting. His obituary was a half page in the local Eastern Evening News. 'Band Leader who turned to Sculpture' 18th September 1978.
