The Norwich Strollers first appeared in [month required] 1961 and were fronted by Mick Holmes. Mick had won many accolades with top notch local bands such as The Cygnets in 1957 & The Jack O’ Diamonds in 1959 and was regarded by many musical colleagues as a truly natural front man. Albert Wooldridge had worked a similar scene and was one of the Sinners.
The group were resident at The Norwich city supporters club during 1962 and up to its change of name in [month required] 1963. Drummer Mick Thurbon recalls "I replaced Bert Wooldridge just before the group changed name and much of its Line-up. We joined up with members of The Starbeats and became the Falcons because there was already a band called The Strollers."
Bert Wooldridge goes on to join the final line-up of Mark Preston’s, Vendors while The Falcons drift into a prosperous patch of local success.
