Many of the original group had attended Yarmouth Grammar School and found themselves rehearsing at the now demolished St Andrews Youth club in Gorleston
Multi Instrumentalist Mike Farmen was the only Sidewinder to see-out the groups entire lifespan from 1963 to 1974 taking on more responsibility for the continuation of the band with each and every change. First moving from bass to guitar and finally to keyboards and lead vocals
Original frontman Rod Harvey was soon snapped up by Yarmouth band The Strangers as was early drummer Bron Parker.
