According to guitarist and author, the late John Butler, Bob & The Boys were Freethorpe’s first-ever skiffle band and were made up of members of the Limpenhoe concert party. The group originally wanted to call themselves Bug & The Buggers but for some reason, the local vicar objected! Drummer Mallet went on to join Butler in his pre beat band The Sapphires.
