"I was sound engineering for the band Pearly Brown after which I formed my own manufacturing company called AMP (Audio Musical Products) building speakers in parallel with the area’s first PA hire company which flourished during the ’70s, having four separate rigs at one time. The company later morphed into ADD (Acoustic Design & Developments) where we sold large numbers of speakers to shops under our brand name or often under the shop's name, we did a lot of custom work. We were the first to use carpet covering, now adopted almost universally. We eventually took over Tayden Loudspeakers when the owners retired mainly for our usage but we were then approached by Patrick Eggle guitars to build guitar speakers for him as the ones he had been using kept blowing up, so we developed one especially for them. From here we went on to supply a host of other boutique amplifier builders, both here and abroad. We then took over D.C. Boulton's loudspeaker repairs and Falcon Acoustics crossover components again mostly to maintain the continuation and supply of components, we took over their customers as well and for a while ran it in parallel with the previous management.
The manufacturing company still operates today and is run by my son Josh Seago and combines all of the companies although the shift is away from cabinets to guitar speakers and these are being used by the likes of Jeff Beck, Joe Bonamassa, Pete Townsend, Paul Weller and also The Shadows on their farewell tour. Their amps were equipped with our drivers. The company also repairs loudspeakers as well as doing design work for other companies both loudspeakers and crossovers and at one time we were the country’s leading producer of crossover coils but China eventually won out on cost in what was becoming a very competitive field."
