Tweedies Cage did not fare much better in establishing themselves on the Cambridge music scene than its predecessor, Time Being, explains the band’s drummer Beales, “After taking on a keyboard player and becoming Time Being in February 1967, he left in August 1967. We brought in Chris Devine as a second guitarist and became Tweedies Cage, although Chris left after our New Year’s Eve gig in 1967. We didn’t replace Chris but soon after this, our singer Colin also left. We couldn’t find another singer to replace him, so we persuaded him to come back, and we continued as a four-piece under the name Motion Picture in May 1968.”
