Billy & Kevin were still attending Gaywood Park school in 1965 when they formed this band with Chalkie Bowman, two years their senior on lead vocals and bass
Performing R&B Rock the band had taken their name and the idea for their stage act from the current trend in Hammer House Horror movies. Billy Easthall who was spurred by his cousin Buggy Wilson and his uncle Chris Ashby who booth played for the Devils Coachmen Billy recalls their first gig at South Lynn Community centre. "Our friend Richard Moulton would cover himself in bandages and daub tomato ketchup on himself and get inside a coffin. We would then stand the coffin at the front of the stage. Our opening number was the classic Green Onions during which he would burst out of the coffin. That first night all the girls screamed and ran out leaving us to finished the song to an empty room."
The band played in and around Kings Lynn for about a year before they disband only to return around 18 months later teaming up with ex Devils Coachman, Brian Dacioush Cook as The Breakthrough
Richard the mummy was apparently last seen being chased down Gaywood Road by an enraged Groom after he scared his pregnant bride whilst the group performed at a wedding reception
