The Sonics played their first gig on the 13th of December 1963 at a church hall in Diss. This was closely followed an article placed in the South Norfolk news on the 10th of January 1964. Band leader and guitarist Mick Morley placed the advert looking for work. The group had formed straight out of school with Mick, Jimmy & Bernard all having attended Diss grammar school

First changes in line-up came when Bernard Shaw left and his place taken by Barry Dye in December of 1965 having previously been with the recently de-funked local based Consorts

The addition of extra vocalist Sue Carey in [date required] proved to be a fleeting stay

The bands final tranformation came when Clive who had originally played bass for the group took up the keyboards but left to join Norwich based Garry Freman and the Contours in [date required]

The group continued into the seventies and beyond without many changes to its line-up. They still get together for the occasional gig, although the band officially only ceased to function on           when they played their farewell gig at the       PH, one of their most frequented venues over their      year life span
