"The Rum Brothers came into being when Mike Crome and John Winters of Irish band Map Of Tasmania joined forces with Tim Lane, formerly of Doomweasel and Waswash (amongst others) around 2006. They played a mixture of traditional Irish folk music, country and bluegrass and played regularly around Norfolk and the eastern region. They were often seen playing in Norwich pubs Delaney’s, the Hog in Armour and Temple Bar and weren’t averse to a bit of busking in the Fine City. In 2009 Paul Fitzgerald joined the band on double bass and the band found themselves playing even more gigs. Tim left towards the end of 2010 and the band continued as a three piece until 2011. The spirit of the band lives on in Mike’s band The Rum Dogs." source Tim Lane 2017
