"After rehearsing from September 2005 the band were ready to go on the road in early 2006 and all the members left their bands, the Tony's both came from the Sabres, Marty from Stonerunner, and Nigel from Go Bananas. The members were all united in the decision to create a truly authentic look and sound and spent a fair amount of money on gear and taylored suits taking care to cover every detail. It was Tony Cater's idea to call the band "The Peppermint Men" it had been on his mind for a while having played on stage with The original Peppermint Men in Cambridge back in the sixties, then known as "Rey Anton and the Peppermint Men". The emphasis was on four part harmonies and that sixties sound. We travelled all over East Anglia to clubs, halls, social centres and holiday camps, often being asked to support many of the famous sixties bands  such as The Ivy League, The Rockin Berries, Edison Lighthouse, The Fourmost and Hermans Hermits etc." [source Martin Baldry 2015]
