The group had started as Suburbs back in May 1982. After a break the band reform as Out Of The Blue. Equipment had improved; Biggs had now purchaed a red premier club kit from Suburbs ex drummer Harris. Brit had upgraded to a Fender Precision (copy) with a Marshall 60 watt amp and Allen had picked up an unspecified Flying V (copy) and a WEM 50 watt amp with Pye's vocals going through a WEM 30 watt combo.
The original line-up play one public performance outdoors at the summer fete of The Kabin on the Heartsease Estate in June 1984 before Allen leaves and is replaced by Gooch.
The new line-up of the band first performed at a talent competition held at The Canary PH, Nch and were described in a local write up of the event as a Heavy Metal band. In December 1984 the group were booked to play The Festival House PH, Nch but arrived to find the landlord had double booked. A hasty ring round saw the group play it's second gig (outside of The Canary PH) at The Grove PH, Nch.
In 19?? Allen returns and Gooch departs with the band changing their name to Berlin.
