Nemo Sect is latin for No Name. The band had progressed from the Hempnall based Sugarbeats, Line-up changes had seen Geoff Moulton move from lead guitar over to the bass. The group played most of their short life as a four piece power pop outfit performing with a sound not unlike that of the early Who.
In April 1967 the addition of school friend Jim Goode on piano and a brass section saw the groups sound moved towards R&B & Soul. Detailed records show the group played a total of 33 gigs, their last on Saturday September 30th at a party in the village hall in Morning Thorpe. The group did make a live recording of their set and this still exists. The next day, David Hook set off for Reading university. Clive Button joined [band required] Geoff continued playing but as part of the folk duo [band name required] After university Dave’s career as a guitarist took off when he became a member of progressive guitar band Graphite who released a number of collectable records on the [label name required]
