Klose and Barrett had previously been playing on the Cambridge circuit with Blues Anonymous and Those Without respectively. Waters who had moved to Cambridge from ?? was not an active participant on the scene but had moved to London sooner and previously played with The Tailboard Two, Sigma 6, The Meggadeaths and The (Screaming) Abdabs before forming Leonards Lodgers
