"The Lemons were formed by a bunch of school friends all living in Scotland sometime in 1980. They started life as a 5 piece folk rock band and were initially active around Dundee/St Andrews collage scene. They promoted free music and often performed impromptu gigs such as playing for nothing outside the gates of collages & six forms. Later four of the group enrolled at West Suffolk Collage in England and continued performing under the name The Lemons. There was a 2 track demo.'The Two of Clubs' (Folk version of Motorhead's 'Ace of Spades' and a 10 minute cover of the B52's '53 Miles West of Venus'." LB18/05/2023
Udat: "I have an entry in an old diary which says we played 'The Grapes' pub Bury St Edmunds May 1982, so we were in Suffolk by then. Flora Freed remained in Scotland as I believe she went to Uni." LB18/05/2023
