After the band had suffered their first major setback with Immediate records taking the decision to shelve their recording of Marriot and Lanes Son Of A Baker. Manager, and father of two thirds of the Thetford, Bohemians, Alec Hood soon realised that if the band were going to progress he had to had get them professional management from within the music industry, so he organised a showcase for the group in London
In December 1968 the young band changed their name to The Kydds on the advice of Record Plugger & Promoter turned manager Brian Tucker. It was the early months of 1969 that the group enjoyed their most successful period under Brian, playing some of London’s top venues and also becoming involved in a promotion film with [details required] Gibb. "We took turns being filmed on a podium near a lake in [details required]" said Stuart

In late 1968 the group signed to the prominent Nems label set up by Beatle manager the late Brian Epstein, the label was also subsidiary to the mighty CBS label
In the group started to record at , The studio had only weeks earlier bee and still bared the scares of the Stones misadventure weeks earlier
It was at this point that the intensions of the manager started to After receiving good radio Ultimately the single was pulled
In 1969 the group started auditions for Chas Chandler
The highlight of the bands career was the UK tour with The Emperor Rosko Road Show "He was larger than life" laughs Eddy. "He knew what he wanted and how to get it, he was a great showman."
Disillusioned with the outcome of the Chas Chandler auditions and the realization that their manager Brian Tucker seemed to be in it more for personal gain than the welfare and promotion of the group Eddy Zipfel took the difficult decision to leave the group and return to Thetford. "It was a difficult time for the band, Eddy was a big part of the set up." said Stuart. In a last throw of the dice and having been convinced that the band should stay together, mainly on the advice of Brain Tucker the group landed a recording deal with Eddy Kessners, President records. ‘Judas In Blue’ released on 1970 received very little attention and was as Stuart Hood points out, always destined to be the groups swan song. He adds "It just wasn’t the same without Eddy, we were a family. Dennis was a good bass player, but Eddy was family. We played a few gigs with the new line-up but then I decided to call it a day."
