Huntingdon man Chris Kausman taught himself to play the guitar after hearing artists like The Shadows, Duane Eddy, Bo Diddley, Chuck Berry, The Ventures, Joe Brown and Bert Weedon. "I went to Huntingdon Secondary Modern School (later St. Peter's School) with Keith and Dave. We would go and watch The Wreckers rehearse in rooms annexing The Grand Cinema, Hunts. The band were older than us and were a great rhythm and blues outfit. We got to know the manager of The Grand, Peter Haddon who managed The Wreckers and also another local band The Huntsmen, who had a very talented lead guitarist. Peter introduced us to Tim Clarke and Jeff Polser who were both slightly older and we formed The Inmates. We got to rehearse in the hall next to The Grand and played our first gig at The Huntingdon Commemoration hall in around 1965, I was 16 or 17!" Kausman continued to play in bands but relocates to North Devon in the early seventies and forms Ark "I played in various bands to this day, the most successful being a band called ARK based in Barnstable, which often supported Hawkwind, and played at festivals like the first Stonehenge free festival in 1974" Chris now lives in ?? in Thailand.
