The Hitch-Hikers were another product of the popular in-crowd scene that had built up around the Whiskey a Go Go, café bar of Kings Lynn’s town centre. Brian Coggles an already established musician with the likes of Paul Chris met up with Trevor Lord who intern knew wannaby vocalist/guitarist Keith Steele who would become the groups only novice. Mike O’ Neal came from RAF Marham and did some time with the group as did [name required] who had previously played with Lynn outfit [band name required]
The group took their name from the latest dance craze to come out of London and rehearsed in the grave diggers hut (no, that’s not the name of a pub, it really was a grave diggers hut) out at Narborough church. Apart from a lot of provincial gigs the groups best accolade to date was to receive a nomination in the Lyn news for the best local act. Brian Coggles moved on to play in the Mark Anthony Showband while Trevor Lord is believed to have gone on to play for [band required]
