The Frontiers hit the local circuit fresh out of school in 1964. Their debut gig according to Vic was at the Rose Valley PH, Nch, a venue renowned at the time for giving many local bands their first break. Vic says, "Our set consisted of numbers by The Beatles (And I Love Her), The Kinks (So Tired Of Waiting), The Animals (House Of The Rising Sun) and many other chart bands. We also uesd to love going out and watching local bands like The Continentals.” Their shortlived days as The Frontiers were for Alan and Brian anyway, their only band experience, although Vic did play again in the seventies.
Crane became part of the family, when he married Celia Lester. In 1988 the boys suffered the loss of Alan to lung cancer, but still smile when recalling the most exciting days of their lives playing in the beat era.
