"1963/4 both John and I began to play guitar with the aim of forming a band when we were at Aylsham High School together. John was already having guitar lessons from a teacher in Spixworth and we soon gained an affinity at working on material together.
In 1963 I had begun to go to Friday night dances in the village hall to see local band Johnny and the Millionaires which essentially consisted of personnel from RAF Coltishall. They played a lot of late fifties early sixties material and were deservedly quite popular at the time and were also a strong influence on sparking a desire in John and I to form a band - if they can do it so can we.
We initially rehearsed in John's dad's garage in Buxton, and in 1967 [1966 unconfirmed] when Dick joined on drums we increasingly used the village hall to overcome complaints of volume.
Throughout 1964 we continued to develop a more ambitious and varied repertoire. Our main style was power pop and later 60’s pop/rock."
