Released: 2005: The Divide. A collection of self recorded demos that included Paul Wooden on drums, as well as Peter Rednall/ 2009: The Sea of Skulls. Paul Oxborough on drums.
The style of the band was primarily original heavy classic rock (as opposed to Metal) with thought provoking lyrics, a very distinctive visual style and a huge stage presence. The Divide folded when father and son team Garth and Ross Coupland emigrated to Australia in early 2013. source: Howie Marsh
Band reforms: On June 17th 2016, The Divide did a performance at The Suspension Tavern during Garth Couplands extended holiday from his new home in Australia. This was repeated in the following August before Garth returned to Australia. Ross Coupland was replaced by Sam High on Guitar and Keyboards.
In 2017 Garth Coupland returned to the UK permanently, with The Divide returning with that same line up on New Years Eve 2017 and then further performances at the Brickmakers in Norwich and also Gorleston Clifftop Festival in 2018. Howie Marsh 16/12/20
