Anihilated is a thrash metal band formed in Ipswich, England in 1981 from the remnants of punk band Prospex. The line up was Andy Creasey on Vocals, Simon “Si” Cobb on guitar and vocals, Lee Hittman on bass, Paul “Bod” Rodwell on Drums. They recorded their first demo in 1983, with Creasey leaving and Cobb taking over vocal duties, and they added another guitarist Mark Beuchet who, when playing with punk band Poison, had gigged with Anihilated. In 1985 the band recorded the "Speedwell" demo which led to a track appearing on the then fledgling label Peaceville's first ever release, Will Evil Win flexi. In 1986 they recorded the 12" EP Path To Destruction a raw punk/metal crossover, released on their own Brew Records label, which has since been re-released as a CD in Japan on the "In Crust We Thrash" label, and more recently, Area Death in China have re-released the Japanese version in a box set, including T Shirt etc. PTD is also due a 4 track vinyl release in 2010/2011. 1988 saw the band record the Created In Hate LP. Following the release of Created in Hate, Anihilated signed to UK label Metalworks. The only release to come from this deal was the 1989 LP The Ultimate Desecration. This was a period of turmoil for the band who were left with no backing, no label and no arrival of the promised European tours. In 1990, Beuchet left the band to concentrate on other projects, and Hittman left soon thereafter, giving up music completely. Although both were replaced, and work had started on their third album Carnival of Souls, the band folded. Cobb went on to form Nightbreed with Robin Graves, who later joined Cradle of Filth. He also played bass for a short time in UK metal outfit Trident with Condemned 84 guitarist Damon. Bod formed his own band and took them to America, they had airplay across the US and released two albums but they disbanded in 2007.. Beuchet played for some time in Love Lies Bleeding. In 2008, following Cobb's recovery from spinal surgery, Anihilated reformed as a three piece, with Cobb on bass and vocals, Bod on drums and Beuchet on guitar. In 2009, Todd Manning joined the band on guitar, and they started recording for their third album, Scorched Earth Policy, which was subsequently released in 2010 on Killer Metal Records. Since recording Scorched Earth Policy they have done several shows, such as Norway's Metal Merchants festival (2010), and The Metal Bash in Hamburg (2011), as well as various other shows and festivals in Europe and the UK. Currently, Anihilated have completed recording the new album i, Deviant which is due for release in September 2013. Also following the departure of Mark Beuchet they have recruited Danny B from Chilean thrash bands Criminal and Pentagram as his replacement and are now looking to some festival slots and world domination.
