Brambles Army arrived in the late sixties and like many regional bands at the time captured the soul band essence. A majority of the group had been together since the mid 60’s and enjoyed a period of success as one of Bury’s premier beat groups The Elpico Six. Taken under the wing of Norwich Artistes it took time for the the groups true potential to filter through. In January 1969 the Norwich Mercury announced they were to back Jenny & The Heartbeats at the Links Pavillion in Cromer [unconfirmed venue]
