Bonnet and Sleath had first formed the Skegness beat band The Missing Links back in 1964, but a year later broke away to form this blues trio. Bonnet’s cousin Trevor Gordon, born Trevor Gordon Grunhill on 5 May 1948 in Skegness, returned to the UK in 1967 after being brought up in Australia. Gordon had been discovered in Australia and was the lead vocalist on many of The Bee Gees’ first singles. Gordon replaced Sleath and a short time later they became known as The Graham Bonnet Set (1967-1968), as well as a brief spell as Bonnar Law. It is not known at which point the band relocate to London after The Sect fold, various sources provided both locations for them. The cousins then formed a duo called The Marbles and had their first chart single with The Bee Gees’ Only One Woman in September 1968.
