The Stingrays were formed in March 1980 when Alan Grey and Neil Daniels broke away from Norwich Mod band Jane Bond and the Agents. The band were noted for their high energy live performance and in ?? 1980 released the 7" EP Still In Love With You which peaked at number 1 in the Backs Records chart the same month. Despite regular sessions at The Cottage Public House, Silver Rd, Nch the band found it hard to keep the momentum going. Grey made several statements implicating the apathy of Norwich crowds and the band starts to play further afield a pressure that sees the band rebuild in late November 1980 when the group bring in ex Malpractice and ex Little Ceasar bassist Page while Source Force drummer Brady stands in until being replaced by ex Assassin Pratt. Daniels, Rudrum & Grey attempt to put together another outfit and are even joined by Ex Zorro guitarist Joe Stevenson but the band does not prevail although Daniels and Gray turn up in a reformed Ruby Joe in ?? 198?
