The third incarnation of the Washington Clubs house band were the Rob Newton Trio. Rob joined Pete Miller just prior to all the members departing for distant shores as a new version of The News. The Trio played their last gigs at the club in May 1969 before sneaking off to Thailand leaving the Robin Barnes Trio to continue the Washington residency
