This band originally performed as The Koll Patterson Trio/Quartet and then became The Jazzshades around 1963. The group were described as an Anglo-American combo in the IES due to their USAF contingent. “We ran our own Jazz Club at The Gardiners Arms, Ipswich and did supports for Alexis Korner Blues Incorporated, which included Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker. These were the days before The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. I started to reuse the name in 2010 with a new band and still do with pickup musicians,” said Coe.
